At the time, I was working in The Book Reserve. This was a public cafe and bookshop that was setup to give jobs to people who were recently released from prison. It was all about trying to stop the recidivism rate of their children following a similar path.
It was a brilliant operation of selling books online from the warehouse. Selling more books from the upstairs bookshelves. People really responded well to the project. All the books were second hand and donated in their droves to the store. That's where I was. I managed the bookshop and the events calendar at that time.
Through trying to source funding for it, I found Film Hub NI. It wasn't long before Sara took a trip to visit us. I applied through their next open round of funding. We got it. Yipee. We're off to the races.
